In an eloquent memoir, Prince Harry, a deeply troubled man, reveals long-kept secrets, but there are no winners in the War of the Windsors. Spare is a memoir by Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, which was released on 10 January 2023. It was ghostwritten by J. R. Moehringer .The title refers to the aristocratic adage that an "heir and a spare" was needed to ensure that an inheritance remained in the family, a role, which was a second son. In one of his book's first chapters, Harry reflects on the day he was born when he says his father, Charles, told his mother, Diana: "Wonderful! Now you've given me an heir and a spare – my work is done." He adds that he was born as a spare to William in case he needed an organ transplant or blood transfusion. Prince Harry's memoir, Spare, is part confession, part rant, and part love letter. In places, it feels like the longest angry drunk text ever sent. This must be the strangest book ever written by a royal.
